More exciting #DiverseBookBloggers news: We now have a directory up and running! It’s still a work in progress but please stop by and if you’re a diverse book blogger make sure to add your blog! And send me a photo of your header for example if you’d like one included. Also, we have badges! Stop by and make sure to grab one for your blog/space and link back to the directory. There’s also an “I support”- badge for allies, we’d appreciate the support and spreading of the word 🙂
There’s a resource page, where we list book lists by bloggers that highlight for example Mexican-American authors or Chican@ Speculative Fiction etc. Please let me know if you have created such a list on your blog, we’d love to add it to the directory! An index page with categories for easier navigation will be up soon.
The directory will hopefully function as an archive and a resource for bloggers, authors and publishers. We’d like to make an impact collectively! So please stop by, browse, add your blog and follow us! I’m admin, so feel free to contact me with any concerns and questions you might have.

I have been reading books by diverse authors for four years and blogging my reviews of them. I have focused on women of color, but not exclusively. I also have made some lists such as one on Women and Islam. https://wordpress.com/post/mdbrady.wordpress.com/6136 I also have some lists by country and favorites. A few recent excellent diverse Canadian books I’ve read are The Hero’s Walk by Anita Rau Badami, Bone & Bread by Saleem Nawaz, Birdie by Tracey Lindberg, and All Inclusive by Farzana Doctor.

I love this, and I love the badges. Also, I’m so glad we’ve been talking about this so much because I’m really starting to think how I can use my blog to amplify authors/stories I love.

I just finished Binti!!! Per your recommendation!!! So excited 🙂 It was amazing and I loved it and I am putting Okorafor at the top of my list for authors to explore further. My only complaint was that it was so short (I didn’t realize it was a novella, and I wanted to know so much more about the world. But this is not the book’s fault, obviously. So the next Okorafor I’m reading will definitely be a full-length feature).

Hi there! I have no idea how to add myself to the list, but I’d love to. My blog isn’t just books but diverse literature is very important to me, and I’ve posted my first fiction review (https://sexualityandthecityblog.wordpress.com/2016/05/13/review-what-belongs-to-you/)
My most recent diverse lit was the LGBT novel ‘What Belongs to You’, by Garth Greenwell. It was great – very reminiscent of mid-century US poetry, only bleaker.
